 1,200m2 OF BINDERY INNOVATION

Live presentations will demonstrate the simplicity of set up and ease of operation which Horizon's icon-based touchscreens and intuitive software bring to complex production processes.

Folding - among 15 folding systems on demonstration are: a new 'SR' version of the B3 EF-35 series featuring combination steel and rubber compound rollers; two configurations of the new AF-406 pharmaceutical folder; a prototype buckle/buckle version of its fully-automated 6-plate B2 folding system and a version of the automated AFC-744 B1 machine with 'above and below' CCD image recognition systems for secure production of 16-page sections.

Saddlestitching - three configurations of the award-winning StitchLiner will be on show demonstrating the HOF high-speed sheet/set feeder for digitally printed work, the VAC-Turbo PowerCollating line with CCD image recognition systems at every station and other new optional quality assurance and integrity systems, including: page-to-page registration checker, thickness detectors at the trimmer and faulty set ejection; A MAJOR NEW DEVELOPMENT is the first showing WORLDWIDE of a new long-edge feeding system which works on-line with the StitchLiner to offer more stable operation on awkward materials - in particular, on thinner stocks.

Bookletmaking - three configurations of the new generation JDF-ready automated SPF-200A stitch/fold/trim line are on demonstration including models with HOF high speed sheet/set feeder for digitally printed work and barcode systems for product integrity verification.

Perfect Binding - six perfect binding systems are on demonstration including the latest version of the top-selling (more than 120 installed in the UK alone) Jdf-ready fully automated BQ-270 with new high profile colour touchscreen, the new 4-clamp BQ-470jdf with PUR glue option and CABS500jdf computer-aided binding system.

Case Binding
- a new run-of-one case making and casing-in high quality hard back book production system capable of A4 landscape as well as A4 portrait is showing and will be of particular interest to those wishing to target the growing photographic presentation sector.

i2i JDF

There will be three english language presentations each day demonstrating JDF workflows via Horizon's i2i bindery management system which has been refined over six years of development and now includes fields to write JDF-profiles for non-automated machines and full JDF integration via the user's host MIS system. Integrated in the 'fingertip control' presentation are a StitchLiner system with CCD camera image recognition in each collating bin, BQ-470jdf 4-clamp perfect binder AFC-566FGjdf automated B2 folding system with in-line pressing and stacking delivery and the CABS5000jdf automated gathering, binding and 3-knife trimming line
